"Marbling art is one of the most modest but the deepest fields of Turkish Arts.  Beyond it’s being a form of art, it is a discipline having potential of giving spiritual satisfaction to the people. The most definite aspect of Turkish marbling is its spiritual-sufi atmosphere.
Turkish Marbling has accumulated on a tradition through its own past, performances, designs, materials, symbolism and certain cultural codes naturally. This tradition and philosophy are main arteries of marbling. The traditional design and colours of Turkish marbling become classical and it is not limited so and open to new styles and attempts apart from the tradition; not based on certain rules.
The main style of mine is those of Ethem Efendi, Necmeddin Okyay, Mustafa Düzgünman and their followers reached today with the help of them.
I think sufi tradition and potential in marbling art now are being paid less attention."
