"The basic description of the art of writing in Islamic sources is that: “Calligraphy is a kind of spiritual geometry realized with visible tools”.  The art of calligraphy has been continued in an aesthetical conception agreeable to this description through centuries. The articulating of the concept of aesthetic just through black lines on the pale background, usually without any colour, is not familiar to other writing systems and that has become a research topic and inspirer for Western painters. So the art of calligraphy should be evaluated beyond painting and it's an artistic work of high significance that its aesthetic character can not be defined by using painting terms"
