Nebahat Maşalı earns her daily bread in traditional silver threading and teaches in Municipality of Ümraniye, Directorate of Libraries and Vocational Courses.   

" Silver threading is made not through any tools but on its own. It involves embroidery of a motif with thread on a fabric or veil stretched in an embroidery frame. Generally we carried out special drawings and thread and models in accordance with the colour of fabric. Silver thread used to be employed in traditional silver threading and copper and gold threads have recently been popular. I differently make antique silver originated on my own with various techniques. It is my aim to bring this handcraft of three centuries about to be forgotten to light and use it in different phases of daily life and voice beauties of our countries and traditions and encourage the woman supporting this art with the same efforts."
